My brother has a 2002 300M. He loves it but now it's my turn to get a car and I'm wondering if Chryslers are a good company to stay with?

I purchased a 2001 Chrysler Sebring convertible two years ago. It's a great car. Our mechanic advised my daughter to purchase a Caravan as they were a good deal less expensive to repair than Ford or GM products. So, from our experience Chrysler vehicles are a good buy.

I have always had chryslers and Jeeps and they have always been great cars for me. My first car was an '89 grand wagoneeer, and it was a great car, now I have a 2004 300m with over 150k miles on it, never failed me once, just make sure it was taken care of.

now about chrysler. i bought a 04 dodge van. really great vehicle passed it down to my sister in law and got a 02 chrysler 300m would not trade it for anything in the world. not a problem yet, knock on wood, with either. and it's been 2 years. my husband worked at a suzuki dealership for a yr. DONT BUY SUZUKI. Not worth the money.. way to much for a crapy car. now he works at a Dodge, Chrysler dealership new and used. He agrees Dodge or Chrysler is the way to go.

Chryslers depreciate like nothing else on the market, as far as I can tell. So it's very much to your advantage to buy a used one. A 2002 300M with 50,000 miles on it would probably only be worth about $8k, if that, and it'll last you for 10 years.

Some cars depreciate so little you might as well buy a new one, but Chryslers are much more economical used.

For questions like these, I always turn to Consumer Reports. They are one of the few outfits that test products independent of outside influence. For the 2008 vehicles, Chrysler has no entries in the Budget Car or Small Car categories. In the 4- and 6-cylinder Family Sedans, the only one is the Chrysler Sebring, which was at the bottom or next to the bottom of the ratings list.

In the large sedan category, the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger were near the bottom of the list. In the Wagons and Hatchbacks, the Dodge Magnum and Caliber were the only entries - at the bottom of the list. There were no Chrysler products in the MiniVan list. Small Sport-Utility vehicles, only the Dodge Nitro - second from the bottom.

The Chrysler Pacifica Touring was in the upper middle of the Midsized SUV's, but the Dodge Durango was at the bottom of the Large SUV list. In the Compact Pickups, the Dodge Dakota was in the middle, but in the Full-Sized and Heavy-Duty Pickups, the Dodge Ram was at the bottom.

A pretty dismal picture, I think. The other domestic brands made by Ford and GM don't fare much better in terms of quality and reliability. Your best quality vehicles in nearly all categories are the Japanese makes - Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Nissan, as well as the luxury models made by these companies. This has been true for about the past 25 years.

depends. LIke all cars, if they're taken care of well, they'll last a while. My parents had a chrysler town and country, and everyttime it was time for a new car after five years or so, they'd still run great, and thats why wed get another one.

as for the small cars ,my friend has a sebring, and its great on reliability, but its dull to drive, and in my opinion striaght out UGLY>

Yes: my mom bought a '97 Chrysler Town & Country brand new, and 10 years later, it still feels like a brand new car; the engine hums like new, still has the power it did when new, and every little mechanism, like how the door windows and mechanisms work, still function like new, and it has about 150,000 miles on it. The 300's were on Car&Driver Magazine's 10 best list, and it's easy to know why when you ride in one. The quality of all cars is quite remarkable today. Every car maker sells some cars with problems, some more than others, and sometimes quality depends more on the vehicle and not the brand. When shopping for used cars, the best ones are those that have been well cared for.
