I lost my Chrysler mini van remote The dealer charges me 65.00 to replace it and 71.00 to "program it".

The price of the remote sounds about right. They might have worked with you a little on the charge to re-program it.

I had a Ford dealer, Beasley Ford in York PA, charge me almost 600 dollars to replace 4 spark plugs and 4 spark plug wires. They also wanted to do 1200 dollars of work to solve the hesitation that was caused by water in my fuel (I used dry-gas instead). As far as I can tell, all dealers give the impression (in my humble opinion) of being crooks.

No, this is about right. That is actually pretty cheap for the remote, labor is about the same as anywhere else. As far as the reprogramming goes, you cant do it yourself with this kind. I have had several. I believe that they have to charge a 1 hour minimum labor fee, so that is why they charge the full 71 dollars. They cant make enough money if they charge you for 15 minutes worth of time. Same goes with everyone. HOPE THIS HELPS!!

Can you get it cheaper anywhere else? NO . Then stop complaining. It is worth it to be able to get in and out of your car easily

programming to high only takes 10 minutes .$ 70.00 dollars would be like 1.0 hour labor

The programing charge sounds like a rip.
