TRANSMISSION "SHUDDERS" WHEN CHANGING FROM 1ST GEAR

TRANSMISSION "SHUDDERS" WHEN CHANGING FROM 1ST GEAR

Postby auburn575 » Wed Jan 11, 2012 6:57 pm

My 2008 Honda Accord V6 has 37,000 miles on it. At approximately 32,000 miles it began having a "shudder" when the transmission is changing from 1st to 2nd gear. I took it in to the dealership, had the service manager drive it, and he said that is normal for Honda transmissions, that they don't change smoothly like other cars. I find this hard to believe since it didn't do it for the first 32,000 miles. Has anyone else had this problem?

Its probably a layshaft bearing failure or something wrong with the gearbox.

I suggest you have it checked with few other Honda dealers who can advice you on the problem.

I have no idea about it but i guess there is an article talking about such thing. If i were you I would get the problem documented at the dealership before your warranty expires. Also you you can ask if they did a drain/refill on the transmission or used a machine to exchange all of the fluid.
