Is a 2001 Nissan Altima a reliable car.

Postby jonnrsjjja » Wed Jul 08, 2009 8:12 pm

I found a 2001 Nissan Altima for $4500 it has 118000 miles on it. I thought it was a good deal and was ready to buy, than some friends started telling me that Altimas are bad cars they need belts changed every certain amount of miles and always has problems. Wanted to know if anyone knows anything about Altimas or has heard the same thing.

I think if you are buying a car, better Honda or Toyota

Its an overall great car as Nissan is known to produce well-reliable cars... The only thing that would be great to change is the amount of power this car can put in into high speeds, esp. while merging on the highway or simply having an exhilaration thrill...

I'm not against the performance of altima since i already tried driving it for three years. it just happened that i have to sell the old car because i badly need the money. there were few issues but only minor issues. but what's the good thing here aside from the performance and platform is that, it is easy to find replacement Nissan parts. there's no need to go the local junkyard since there were parts being offered online and some people are actually relying to the online community instead of doing the traditional way of shopping.

I suggest you to go for the upcoming MPV Nissan Evalia which was recently spotted and caught in lens in Chennai and the spy pictures suggest that this MPV has been designed and styled as a tall car with upward stance; the front end features a short bonnet, saw-toothed grille and angular headlamps. The interiors are done in a dual-tone theme and the steering wheel has been adopted from Sunny and Micra but without the mounted audio-controls. Nissan Evalia is a seven seater multi purpose vehicle that follows the 2+3+2 configuration. The car sports narrow front doors and sliding rear doors. Powering the Evalia MPV is the familiar 1.5 liter dCi turbocharged diesel engine. Nissan India is launching this car soon.
